Last Week In Dinger Derby

Previous Week

June 20

Two thirds of June are already gone and summer fast approaches. The Yankees continue to destroy the baseball and dominate every team they play. If they can stay healthy, they should have the #1 seed wrapped up by September 1. Yeesh.

Standings

There has been plenty of jockeying for the top spot over the past few weeks with Rob Conrod (Knuckles), Sean Laycock (Laker) and Dale McDonald all spending various points of early June in the top spot. Dale currently sits atop the leader board with 152 dingers, followed closely by Laker at 150.

Ian Elliott's roster mashed this past week to make up some serious ground on the top teams. He started last week over 10 back of the lead, but has now cut the deficit to 6 and picked up a spot or two in the standings. Conrod has dropped down to 4th, with Cody, Justin and Steven now in the mix.

Vince Tycholas still holds down the basement, but his team has come on in the last week and he's no longer far behind second last. He's picked up 7 HR on the week in the race to stay out of last, and now only sits 4 back of Mike DeVries - who I'm pretty sure now has more chickens than he does dingers.

Stats

Steven Bojovich is already at 50 taters for the month, and we should end up well beyond the 8 entries that eclipsed the mark last month. As the weather gets warmer, I'm sure we'll see a better pace out of a lot of hitters.

Aaron Judge remains the top slugger so far this season, with 25, 4 ahead of the week's hottest hitter. Mike Trout hit 5 in the Angel's weekend series against the Mariners to jump up into the 2nd spot. Surprisingly, only 9 entries have Trout coming off an injury plagued season. I'm sure they've all enjoyed a bump in the standings this week. Paul Goldschmidt had himself a a solid series with 4 in a 3 gamer against the Pirates.

Kris Bryant and Fernando Tatis are still the only players that haven't gone yard so far.
